Sparky goes back to the track next week to start his conditioning for the 2009 racing season. We look forward to an exciting new year still chasing the dream...
In 2008 Sparky ran three races and was in the money in two. A good start for a new racer. He ran against Ziggy Zack who went on to win at Golden Gate in San Francisco in a $50,000 optional claimer, Final Appeal, who went to Emerald Downs, and, One Quick Brew also won at Emerald Downs and then went to California to continue his career.

- My earlier career was in the banking industry in the Seattle area. Positions held include Manager of a check-processing department, Operations Support Analyst, Float Control Officer, Quality Control Specialist. I reported to the Cashier and responsibilities ranged from preparing annual budgets, streamlining procedures, and reviewing government regulations and documenting the impact for our 70+ branches. My career in banking came to an abrupt end when I resigned to care for a terminally ill parent. Our family moved to a small town where we raised chickens, goats, and embraced the self-sufficiency lifestyle. We chopped wood, planted gardens, canned, and bucked bales. Quite a change from our suburban upbringing. In this employment depressed area I have held a number of positions including real estate property management.
